Cactus Wren
The Cactus Wren is native to Southwestern United States. Often found around yucca, mesquite or saguaro. It resides in arid regions and nests in cactus plants. Sometimes it finds a hole in a saguaro, where they can build their nests and find protection from the prickly cactus spines. These wrens mate for life and are exceptionally territorial. The Cactus Wren is the state bird of Arizona.
