Bullocks Orioles in Mulberry Tree
The bullocks Oriole is a small new world blackbird and not related to the similar looking Baltimore Oriole. Using the name of the oriole was originally a mistake. The male Bullock Oriole carries a better tune, but the females are more prolific. (No offensive stereotype of the female is intended.) While native to western North America, they are sometimes found as vagrants in the eastern portions of the continent. Their main diet is insects, berries, and nectar. This is a digital composite and painting created in Photoshop.
