Hawk on Pine Tree
Inspired by the Japanese paintings of the Edo Period (1615–1868), Spadecaller introduces “Hawk on Pine Tree.” The keen-eyed hawk depicts intense awareness of the world around us. Painting fierce birds of prey, like the hawk, and symbols of strength, endurance, and longevity like the evergreen pine became popular among members of the military class of the sixteenth century. This is a hand-painted digital image created in Spadecaller’s Florida Studio on 12/13/2020.
