Voyage of the Arctic Tern
Storms, heavy rain, snow, high winds, and bitter-cold temperatures do not deter the journey of the arctic tern, as it spends most of the year soaring over cold waters far offshore. The arctic tern breeds on coasts of the arctic tundra, New England, Washington, and Britain north to the northern-most limits of land, and spends the rest of the year at sea. Its 44,100 mile round trip takes it to every ocean, and to the vicinity of every continent. This digital painting is entitled, “Voyage of the Arctic Tern.”
