I was about 10 years old the first time I saw a sunflower growing. We were visiting a farm in the Pennsylvania countryside. In the garden straddling alongside the barn were two giant sunflowers. I was amazed. I remember thinking that they were taller than Wilt Chamberlain, the great basketball player from Philadelphia. Wilt was over 7ft tall.
