Windflowers
Because these delicate flowers are easily opened by the wind, the name, anemone, was derived from Greek which means “windflower.” Anemone coronaria is an herbaceous perennial tuberous plant that resembles the poppy. These flowers of various colors bloom from April to June. It is native to the Mediterranean region. Anemone coronaria is the national flower of the State of Israel. “Windflowers,” is a hand-painted digital image created in Spadecaller’s Florida studio (6/27/2020).
