With lights shining all night and guards chatting, the frightened child can only sleep a few minutes at a time. Crammed together in chain-linked cages, she could hear the other children crying. She stares through the cage, hoping the next voice that she will hear will be her mother’s. The internment of immigrant children torn away from their families is a crime against humanity.
