Spade's Desert Rose
Adenium obesum, commonly called desert rose, is a thick-stemmed sparsely-leaved perennial succulent that is native to semi- arid, sub-Saharan regions of eastern and southwestern Africa plus the Arabian Peninsula. This succulent is known for its bulbous trunk (caudex) shape and bunches of beautiful colorful trumpet-shaped flowers. In the wild, this plant will eventually grow to 6-9' tall, but will grow much smaller in containers. Adenium obesum is a popular houseplant and bonsai in temperate regions. In the southeastern U.S. and southwestern states, it is a popular patio and garden plant. If you like gorgeous plants requiring little care, you cannot go wrong with Desert Rose plant, Adenium Obesum. “Spade’s Desert Rose,” is a digital painting and photo composite.
