Two Magpies
In Chinese culture, the magpie represents happiness. The singing of a magpie foretells good luck and happiness. In Chinese and Korean cultures the magpie is called the “bird of joy.” In Northern China the Manchu minority consider these birds sacred creatures. Two magpies facing each other is used to symbolize double happiness. “Two Magpies” is a digital mixed media image created by Spadecaller.
