Popularly called the Cactus Ferruginous Pygmy Owl, this owl was listed as Endangered under the ESA. The cactus owl is a small owl about 6 inches tall that breeds in south-central Arizona in the USA, south through to Mexico, Central America and South America to Bolivia and Argentina.
