The concept of caring for the poor and disabled is repugnant to some Americans, who profess to believe in the teachings of Jesus Christ. We need to recognize the values of love and compassion for all people regardless of their health and ability to pay. The background for this poster is a modified public domain photo of the famous painting known as "Christ Cleansing a Leper" by Jean-Marie Melchior Doze, 1864.

Excellent thought Matt. I've often pondered this and can recall when most all hospitals were run by religious organizations and they depended heavily on donations and the generosity of the patients family to cover the costs (no profit was expected). Health Insurance came along and brought the expectation that providers would be paid at least something. Followed by insurance companies calling the treatment to be provided. What if every kind of business could buy "business payment insurance" , meanning that you would be paid for whatever you produce - quality not considered? Would that be the end of entrepreneurship? It surly caused the loss of compassionate healthcare. TomB

Thanks Tom! The mere concept of profiting from illness and injury perverts the motives of physicians, hospitals, pharmaceutical companies, and Insurance companies.

I love it! Jesus would be appalled by what has become of humanity I think.
