Pacific Wrens and Red Currants
Pacific Wrens are small birds with a song much bigger than themselves. With its wonderfully complex song, this jingling, bubbly songster is more often heard than seen within the dark understory of evergreen forests where they live. Pacific wrens point their tail upright and their entire body shakes with sound when they sing. Like mice scurrying through the forest understory, they hop from branch to branch, along logs, and upturned roots. “Pacific Wrens and Red Currants” is a digital composite and painting.
