The Experiment
From America’s founding to the present day, the democratic experiment has endeavored to escape the tyranny of an autocratic ruling class and an oppressive monarchy. Vicious struggles have taken place over the role of the federal government and the attempts to establish and sustain a representative democracy. Not only are Americans concerned about the stability of social and political institutions in the United States, but Europe is also watching with consternation. A peaceful and sovereign self-governing nation is not only a dream for millions of Americans, but it also affects the hopes of the entire human race. Unfortunately, the advancement of historical myths, dysfunctional politics, and a severely divided society threatens a nation that is crippled by extremism and violence. More than two years after the Capitol riots on the 6th of January 2021, political violence and terrorism has only worsened. The vast gap between the rich and poor continues to widen. Obstacles that stem from racism, antisemitism, corrupt money politics, corporate bribery, identity politics, and social rifts are now generating America’s second civil war. Perhaps millions of Americans would prefer to observe a July 4th holiday that celebrates a nation united in peace – dedicated to the mission of establishing a government by the people. The Experiment is a hand-painted digital poster created in Spadecaller's Florida Studio on 6/24/2023.
