Pink Trumpet Lily
Calla lilies bloom late in the spring in some regions and are grown from rhizomes. Other names for the calla include: arum lily, trumpet lily, pig lily, and the water dragon. To some extent communication in the language of flowers has become a lost art. There was once a time, when the rules of decorum required lovers to express their passion and hopes through the gift of flowers. The flower chosen, the color, and the arrangement all carried a subtle - sometimes secret message. The Pink reflects elegance, and communicates admiration. A single pink calla lily, is a statement of respect meant to honor the union of lovers in marriage. The flower is used to communicate sympathy for the loss of a loved one and the restoration of innocence of the departed soul. The calla lily is also a popular Easter flower and represents the rebirth of Spring. In my home state, Florida, these beautiful flowers begin blooming in February.
