Hummingbird and Curcuma Flower
This digital painting features a Mexican violetear hummingbird suckling on a curcuma flower. These hummingbirds are found in Mexico, and Central and northern South America. They sometimes wander as far north as the United States and even Canada. The curcuma flowers are native to Southeast Asia, southern China, the Indian Subcontinent, New Guinea and northern Australia with some species that are naturalized in other warm parts of the world such as tropical Africa, Central America, and Florida. With gorgeous spires of pink, purple, or white flowers, this long-blooming tropical plant blooms all summer long. Butterflies and hummingbirds love these sweet and spicy scented blossoms.
