Saw Palmetto and Frog
Saw palmetto is a type of palm that grows wild throughout most of Florida's natural habitats. The palmetto plant is also great for wildlife. Not only is it a host plant for the larvae of the palmetto skipper and monk butterflies, many birds and other wildlife feed on the reddish-black fruits that ripen from August to November. In this image, a green tree frog is perching on a frond. “Saw Palmetto and Frog,” is a digital composite.
